Busted out the pumpkin colored leaf bags yet? How about putting away the summer deck furniture? Took the last trip out to the cabin? September is the month of denial. We can pretend that summer is still around, while we stare out the window. Days are getting shorter and colder and sweaters are starting to find their way to the front of the closet.
However, all is not lost! Autumn also means fresh fruit! We've had peaches and cherries already, now it's time for apples. We've got bushels of fresh apples kicking around the kitchen getting tossed into pies, loaves, danishes, and we're even going to make fresh homemade cider!
And let's not forget Thanksgiving is coming up as well. We're hard at work prepping perogies, sausage, cabbage rolls, pumpkin pies, and more to get ready for the official holiday of loosened belt buckles. If you're in need of a little homemade comfort food for the holiday, then check out our order form on the website. We've got a bunch of Thanksgiving favourites, including a great deal on a roast turkey dinner for 10!
So what else is going on at Susie's? We've got hot fresh lunch every day, and Friday this week we're offering one of Susie's classic catering meals at the store for lunch! Two stuffed buns, a fresh salad, choice of hot soup, and cookies. Come in and get a taste of Susie's comfort catering menu on Friday! We've also got a fridge full of quick and easy meals to go. This week we're making hearty beef stew, chili, and homemade turkey pot pies! Reserve some for yourself by giving the shop a call, or pop in this week and grab one for dinner!
And, if you haven't heard, we're hosting a Small Business Christmas Party in December and spots have been filling up. If you've got a small business and want to throw a Christmas party for your employees with a full service meal, then give Susie a call!
And, last but not least, we're doing a fundraiser for the Regina Humane Society this month! On Sept 29 we're going to be giving away a free small coffee, lemonade, or iced tea to anyone that makes a donation of a dollar or more to the Regina Humane Society. Walk-in or drive through with a loony in your pocket and we'll hook you up with a steaming cup of dark roast. We're super excited to get a chance to help out the Regina Humane Society and all the awesome folks involved with their organization.
